My astrologer friend (who also predicted the last voting fiasco in 2000) says things are not looking better this time around - mercury is in retrograde then (again) but she said this time people aren’t going to take it lying down and there may be violence (or in her words “blood in the streets”).

Scary thoughts.  But really when you look at what is happening just this week alone.

Rep. Foley - Co-Chair of the Protection of Exploited Children’s Caucus turns out to be a child exploiter, while apparently those around him who knew turned their heads.

More children dying in schools where they should be safe, and happy.

More revelations about what this admin knew before 9/11 and either ignored and now conveniently “cannot recall”.

Need I say more?

There is already blood in our streets and on our hands.

All the politicians in DC need to go, regardless of what their party affiliation is, and according to our own Declaration of Independence written by Thomas Jefferson, it’s our duty to boot them out.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with inherent and inalienable rights; that among these, are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; that to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed; that whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles, and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.” –Declaration of Independence as originally written by Thomas Jefferson, 1776

It’s time to institute a new government.

Ok enough, for now, my head is starting to spin again.

In light of all this depressing stuff, I gave in.  Lisa’s beauteous sock yarns (YES THAT’S PLURAL!) are winging their way to me as I type.

Must have yarn.  I feel like Madame DuFarge, knitting while Paris burns.  Or in this case America.  I want my country back.
