Finished scarf measures approximately 11” X 60” after blocking
600 yards hand-painted finger weight silk
Size 6 (4.25mm) needles
Cast on 59 stitches. Knit 3 rows of garter stitch.
Pattern:
Knit 1 row slipping first stitch (and slip the first stitch of every pattern row).
Row 1: & 3: (WS) s1, p1, k2, * p3, k3; repeat from *, last 4 stitches, k2, p2.
Row 2: s1, p3, * k3, p3; repeat from *, end p1.
Row 4: s1, p1, k2, * yo, sl 1- k2tog, psso, yo, k3; repeat from * to the last 4 stitches and end with k2, p2.
Row 5 & 7 (WS): s1, p3, * k3, p3; repeat from *, end p1.
Row 6: s1, p1, k2, * p3, k3; repeat from *, to the last 4 stitches and end with, k2, p2.
Row 8: s1, p1, k2tog, *yo, k3, yo, sl1 k2tog, psso; repeat from *, to last 7 stitches and end with; yo, k3, yo, ssk, p2.
Repeat rows 1-8 for length of scarf.
Finish:
Knit 4 rows of garter stitch, and bind off by *k2, slip last knit stitch back on to left hand needle* repeat so the bind of is as stretchy as the cast on row.
