Irish Cottage Knitting?

Who knew there was a name for it?  Apparently this is also the method the harlot uses, see here!

Being a semi-self taught knitter I just thought I had modified the English method for my own personal knitting style, since it didn’t seem to match the continental or throwers styles at all.

Only 2 and a half days until Rhinebeck! I better start packing!

  1. Do you mean to tell me all this time I’ve been sitting across the table from you and I never noticed this??? Gah. (I knit Continental and like to think I’m fairly fast, but I’ll be watching you like a hawk the next time I see you.)

  2. I knew there was a reason that I learned to knit both ways…I must try it!!!

  3. Aha! Maybe this is why I could never answer the query, ‘thrower or picker, European or Continental?’ I just knit the way my mother taught me, long ago in West Cork.
