First the funny…
If you haven’t gone to see Little Miss Sunshine – do so now before it’s out of the theaters. I think the last movie I laughed this hard in was Young Frankenstein. But this one is a lot different than that. It’s hilarious, and bittersweet, and if you come from any level of a dysfunctional family you will find members of your family on the screen and you can laugh at them publicly.
I love Toni Collette, she is fabulous in this, as is Greg Kinnear, Steve Carell, and Alan Arkin. The cast was great, the writing was great… this is a 2 thumbs up, must see.
On the knitting front,
I finished a pair of sock and started another. I cannot deal with the lacy shawl right now, so that it resting in the bottom of my knitting bag just now. Christmas isn’t right around the corner or anything, right? I mean it’s not even Halloween yet.
Darling Daughter is loving high school – phew! Although I’m not sure she is actually doing any homework… but at least the school seems to be on top of things since I’ve heard more from her advisors proactively since school started over 2 weeks ago than I did her entire 7th and 8th grade years.
On the saddest of notes, one of our knitting friends lost her husband suddenly last week, it’s been a very hard week. But she knows that we are here for her and the kids, and there are lots of friends, family, etc. that are surrounding them with love right now. So say a little prayer, and hug your family close tonight.

2 other people that I know have seen Little Miss Sunshine since we saw it and they said the very same thing; that it’s been quite a while since they laughed out loud in the movies like that. They deserve Oscar, Golden Globe and Independent Spirit awards!!
